Managing Dosing Information
Searching for Existing Dosage Sheet
- Selecting Dosage Sheets from the upper navigation will take you to the dosage sheet index. This screen allows the user to search for a dosage sheet for the purpose of viewing or editing it. It also offers the option to add a new sheet. To search for an existing dosage sheet, you may:
- Scroll through the listing of drug dosage sheets in alphabetical order
- Begin typing the drug name in the "Search Dosage Sheets" field. As you enter the drug name into the field, hit enter or click on the search button to filter the list accordingly.
- Filter the list of drugs by Category (by selecting from the All Categories listing).
- Filter the list of Active or Inactive dosage sheets (by selecting from the Active Dosage Sheets listing).
- As you enter the drug name, press enter or click on the search button to filter the list accordingly. Click anywhere in the row to select the dosage sheet. The Edit Dosage Sheet screen will display. You can also filter the list of dosage sheets by the drug category.
- Click anywhere in the row to select a dosage sheet. The edit dosage sheet screen will display.
Editing Dosage Sheets
- On the Edit Dosage Sheet screen, you can edit content within any section by typing in the applicable field. See Adding a New Dosage Sheet for a table describing each dosage sheet content field and more information on editing the drug dosage information in any section. This screen also allows you to view the dosage sheet as it would be displayed in the mobile app, and the website for the pharmacists.
- After making any changes to the content, be sure to save the dosage sheet by clicking on the blue "SAVE SHEET" button.
Once editing is complete, click on the "SAVE SHEET" button to save any changes.
Adding a New Dosage Sheet
- To add a new dosage sheet, click the blue "NEW SHEET" button.
- Fill in the applicable information:
- First, add the correct Category for the drug by clicking on the drop-down arrow to the right of Categories, and selecting from the list. If the category is not listed, simply type the new name in the Category field. Doing so will add the new category to the list for future drugs.
- Next, fill in the Title and Subtitle, if applicable, for the drug.
- Begin typing the description and any other applicable information. As the information is added to the dosage sheet, a view of what will be displayed in the PICU app is shown to the right. After adding all applicable information, click the "CREATE SHEET" button.
- Once the dosage sheet has been created, the SAVE SHEET button will display. Use this to save any additional information entered for this dosage sheet. A message will display at the top of the page that the system saved the procedure.
Field | Description |

Category* | Select the drug category from the drop down list. Once selected, the field will populate. |
Subcategory | Select the applicable subcategory from the drop down list. This list is dependent on the Category field. |
Title* | This is the formal name of the drug. For example, Diazepam. |
Subtitle | This is a brand name associated with the drug or the drug route. Type in the name(s). For example: Valium, or for Magnesium it would be (oral) |
Description* | Provides a high-level description of the drug. |
Contraindications | Will list contraindications of which to be aware. |
Warnings | Will list warnings of which to be aware. |
Dosage | Will provide the dosage information for the drug. |
Note | Any additional notes about this drug that would be helpful to the provider. |
Metadata | Keywords used for this drug. For example: pharmaceutical code or brand name. |

These fields use an HTML editor and provide some helpful tools to format the text. The tools provided allow the user to easily format the text as follows: bullet lists, number lists, bolding, italicizing and HTML view.
It is not recommended to copy and paste from an MS Word document. This often introduces invalid characters into the html. Notepad++ works well to copy/paste from MS Word to Notepad, then copy from Notepad and paste in the appropriate field.
Special Formatting
- Bolding: Highlight the Text you would like to bold and click the B icon.
- Italics: Highlight the text you would like to italicize and click the I icon.
- Ordered and Unordered Lists: Highlight the text you would like to include in the numbered or bulleted list. Then click on the toolbar item for the list option you would like to apply.
- Viewing the text in HTML: Click the > icon. When you are done, click the > icon again return to a non-HTML view.
- Adding an HTML Link: Click the > icon to view the text in HTML. Use the following HTML code to add your link to the appropriate text. In this example, we are linking to the SBS Scores dosage sheet.

Activations
- The Activations screen allows you to see the status of any user that has attempted to log into the PICU app. The following information is stored and will display:
- Email address used to log into app
- The date and time of the last attempt
- The PIN used
- The Status:
- Thumbs up icon if successful
- Warning icon if denied
Pin Manager
This section stores the activation PIN which is used to access the app. In addition, the accepted email domains are stored. The user must have an email with a valid domain (BJC.org and WUSTL.edu) and the correct PIN to be granted access to the PICU app.
The Support email listed will be used to send a pin request to a valid user. It is used to send an email when a non-bjc/wustl person asks for a password.
